A Horse's perspective of humans ( short story)

The main character in this story is a horse named  Leonardo, Leonardo was a wild horse. One day Leonardo goes for a walk and hears things, but it doesn't sound like any animal he has heard before so he goes check it up, and what he saw was like nothing he has seen ever before. This thing was short indeed, and didn't have 4 legs like us, and walked standing up, Leonardo said. Leonardo went closer to them, and those things noticed him, so they went closer to him, Leonardo wasn't scared he was confident so he stood there looking at those things as he kept saying, that was because they looked small to him. They then started to do the weird sounds, then they started to touch him, but the way they touched him feel good so he kept letting them touching him, then one of them got on top of Leonardo and started to pat him which was weird Leonardo said, but for some reason he knew what to do and left running with the weird creature on top of him to shoe his family members what he had endured and found.

If I were to build a robot

If I were to build a robot to solve any problem, I would build it to help me with my shooting and basketball drills. I want it to be able to 1v1 me, and being able to set him into modes when facing me in a 1v1 for example, easy, normal, and hard. I would build him in a way to make him able to move around fast and being able to pass the ball, and being able to shoot. I would build a robot as a basketball companion and a coach. He would be able to talk, so basically if I were to build a robot it would be like a human like us. But, It would take a long time to build a robot like that, but it would be amazing if someone invents a robot like that.

Women's world cup debate

I feel that is was ok for the U.S. to score a lot of goals because at the end of the day, it's a game. They worked so hard to get to the Women's World Cup and it was necessary for them to win because then they'll feel like they worked so hard and at the end they lose which will leave them devastated. Both teams worked hard overall, but at the end who ever tries harder wins, which means U.S. won because they were putting more effort so Thailand shouldn't be mad or sad because it was their effort that cost them their game.

What I learned in summer school (Essay)

       During this course of 3 weeks I learned, what a blog page was, how it works, and how it was able to be shown to other people and colleges. It is a way to create an online portfolio for your teachers and fellow classmates to see your ideas and opinions. I learned how to persuade people, and learned a little bit about my teacher Dr. Preston for example, I learned from him how he preferred pens over pencils, how he would rip out the pencil sharpener every time he got a new one placed. I learned on how he played at UCLA for basketball and how he was able to dunk which is amazing, I plan to some day being able to play for a good college too. He also talked about his grades, on how he had all A's every year of high school because he said he was a smart ass, which I wish I was too to become a scholar and to apply to a good college for example UCLA.
       
          Many of you may be  wondering why I decided to sign up for summer school. One of the reasons why I signed up, was because I wanted to become a better writer. On my free time, I enjoy reading books that are interesting to me, for example, The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton, that was the 1st book that I ever liked. I enjoyed my 7th grade English teacher reading it in class it made time go by faster. I feel that by going to summer school helped me to get to know the campus. As well as, meeting Dr. Preston and my basketball coach for this upcoming fall.

      While being here at summer school I learned the importance of time management. After seeing how I use my time, I decided to play more basketball then playing video games. Another thing I would like to change is to chores done and do more productive things such as reading and writing. After learning, that we spend, give and sell our time. It made me realize that you never live the same moments again. After taking this class, I feel I will be more prepared for high school this August as well being more productive with my time.

       Another thing I learned this summer was the importance of creating a blog page. It is important because all of your work gets saved and gets reviewed by our teachers and classmates. It helped me get more motivated because I could get my work done from my cell phone, computer, and any other device. This is great because if for some reason I cant make it to class I can get my work done from home and reviewed by my teacher online.

        All you can see, by coming to summer school I was able to not only learn to write, but I got to know the campus much better. Now that I feel more confident, I will be off into a great start in high school starting August. I want to thank Dr. Preston for helping me improve my writing and time management. I really enjoyed taking this summer class, overall it was a great experience.

A sound of thunder ( Questions about the book)

In the story The Sound of Thunder three guys went on a safari to kill a dinosaur so they went to the pass to kill it, but some of the men already went back to mark it with a paint ball gun with red paint before they went out there. When they went out there, they didn't see the dinosaur at first then all of a sudden  they saw it, it was a tyrannosaurus Rex, the most dangerous dinosaur that ever lived on earth. The title of the story means that the sound of thunder which represents the moment they shot the dinosaur with the shotgun which killed him. Some of the clues that the author gave were, in the title which was foreshadowed.  The author foreshadowed that soon a dinosaur was going to get killed towards the end. 

The main point of the story was that leadership and friendship between the three guys. As, well as killing the dinosaur which created trust between the three guys.  

When I think of the word Time.

When I think of the word Time, I get a lot of ideas but the top 3 ideas are: I get worried my mind starts wondering about what I need to do or what I need to get done. I feel excited when I think about time especially when I have a basketball game. I sometimes get anxious because I want to make sure I get to live a great life. 

Bad Words

I do think there is a such thing as bad words because there is people that are good, and can say bad words and influence badly another person's feelings or perspective on something or someone in a not so good way. For example, when someone tells you a bad word with bad intentions it makes you feel disrespected. It mostly depends on there tone of voice when saying these words. One person should hear out what another person has to say even if he or her says these words, instead of just coming back with bad words yourself and hurting the other persons feelings, while his intentions weren't to hurt yours.

Time management

I use my time wisely by helping my parents, and on my free time I like to play basketball with my friends. When playing basketball I spend up to 37hrs playing sometimes more depends how tired I'am. When doing chores I spend 7hrs doing them even though it gets annoying at a point, I do it fast so I could play video games right after. Speaking of video games, I spend 21 hrs playing, which is a lot but I don't play as much anymore because of school and basketball. If the world was perfect, I would use more hours playing basketball then either doing my chores or playing video games because doing a sport benefits you more than either doing your chores or playing video games.

Ways to solve conflict

when I feel like I want to handle my own problems in a physical way, I use those frustrations and, anger, feelings to release them by punching a wall, door, table. I do this because I know that I'll stop because then my knuckles will hurt, and I will be emotionally exhausted. I'm trying to get better at expressing the way that I feel when I'am frustrated. Next, time I find myself in a bad situation I will make sure to walk away to remove myself from trouble. I usually don't get into many problems but when I do my anger sometimes overcomes me, which is bad and I'm trying to improve it. I feel that it is very important to being able to resist the urge to beat someone up, I see that many people take therapy to help them with their frustration but I don't feel that's not right thing for me, I rather control my urge by myself because it's actually better, because you could have time alone in your quiet room calming yourself down without listening to other people.

Memorizing

My strategy for remembering things is by repeating them over and over. This helps me because it gets stuck in my head so I could remember it faster. When repeating if its a poem, I just read it out loud. I start by memorizing sections of the poem then continuing until the end of the poem, this technique helps me better understand and memorize the poem. When memorizing I like to be in a quiet room with no distractions. One of the things that work for me is, by using flash cards to memorize vocabulary. I like to take notes and breaks in between so that I could continue it after I eat. Highlighting is one of the things I like to do to better memorize the terms, that's when I use paper but usually I use my phone.

Inspired

My older cousins inspired me to change my mind on how I dress and the music I hear. I used to dress different when I was little, I used to wear some skinny jeans, and sometimes I wouldn’t combine the jeans to the shirt. I also didn’t wear the best brands I just use to get whatever I wasn’t really that into brands back then for example Jordan, true religion jeans,polo,tommy Hilfiger, and etc.But, my older cousins which are still teenagers but one of them is going to turn 21, inspired me, I looked up to them so I started to wear saggy/straight/baggy jeans, I started to getting into brands a whole bunch, polo, tommy, true religion, and Jordan. they used to wear there true religion jeans with some fresh Jordans, and a cool shirt, they would have like 9 pairs of very expensive Jordan’s and jeans. They also changed my mind about music, I used to hear songs that now that I think of it will make people laugh, but now I listen to loud music with a beast bass. Everytime I go to Oakland with them we just drive around, go to stores, and blast music in the car, they have a good sound system so all you could hear from the outside is the music going and bump,bump,bump, because of the bass. My older cousins changed me a lot my attitude and the way to talk as well.

A perfect day at Magic Mountain

If I ever went to Magic mountain, a prefect day there would look like me going on all the rides with my family at least 3 times.I would love to go because my friends told me about it and it sounds like a lot of fun, just thinking of not waiting in line and having unlimited pass to all the rides and shops fascinate me. If I ever went to Magic Mountain I would want it to be a sunny day but not to hot, probably a little humid so when the sun goes down, while I’m on a ride I could see the sunset with my family eating either popcorn or cotton candy, with smiles on every person on my family.One day when I’m older I’ll take my family to not only Magic mountain but Disneyland and universal studios as well.

One argument I remember

One argument that I remember having was with my mom when she lied to me about taking me somewhere to buy something I wanted, when I tell her she says yes to it but she takes me the following day even though we have time to go right when I tell her. It starts when I want something and been waiting for it, then I ask her to buy it for me and she says yes, so I tell her if were leaving right now and she says yes, but then she grabs her phone goes to her room, takes off her shoes and sees Facebook then calls her family and friends. Then, I tell her to get off the phone but she stays on it and then it starts to get late (dark) and after she finally gets off her phone, its late then I ask her can we go now, and she say's will go tomorrow because its late, well I get mad and talk back by saying, " Well it is late because I told you earlier to leave and then you just grab your phone and lay there and ignored me". Then she gets mad at me by saying since I talked back she wouldn't buy it for me no more, I then just go into my room and lock it and lay on my bed while hearing music.

My favorite meal

My favorite meal is a Burger King whopper, when I'm starving it tastes the best. I go to wash my cloths at a laundry store by Waller park a bit more further, and every time we go wash and finish we go to Burger King because when we go home we always pass it. Since we go to wash early and I haven't ate nothing, after we finish washing, the whopper tastes the best then any other time I go to Burger King. When, I eat it I fell a warm feeling in my stomach and my mouth gets watery, just thinking about it right now since I'm starving gets my mouth watering and my stomach rumbling.

Welcome to my blog, my name is Narciso Baez a upcoming freshman and a basketball player here for Santa Maria High School. Here I'am going to share my ideas about my journals or arguments from school.

What I learned yesterday.

For most, I learned on how you would rip out the pencil sharpener and why you don't like pencils and prefer pens. Also, I learned what internet means, (www.), and learned about the neutrons and how they function. I also learned we have some things in common, for example basketball, you and I both play, and it's our favorite sport, we also played the same position the 2 which is striker. I learned where and what weblog is, and that you like to learn, but you don't like school same here. I could tell from the 1st day you would be a awesome teacher, you are chill, less strict, patient. I would love to have you in a class for English when I'am a freshman here, I'll change my English class to yours if I have to, we could talk about basketball all day (period)🙂, I'am happy I decided to come to your class.
